James R. Capps, AIA, LEED AP

Jim has been with the firm for over 30 years and is responsible for office management, overseeing all current work, and quality control review for a wide range of projects. His strong attention to detail assists in keeping projects on schedule and within budget. Jim has extensive experience in the preparation of working drawings for educational and recreational facilities, community centers, commercial, and office buildings.

As the firm’s leader in quality control, Jim is responsible for managing the production of architectural drawings and performing a thorough review of documents. His strong areas of expertise include all phases of construction documents with particular focus on the most technical aspects of documentation such as architectural detailing and sections and elevations.

His easy-going personality combined with his broad architectural knowledge makes him a popular mentor to many of our young architects. Jim received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University. He has since obtained his NCARB certification, LEED Accreditation, and is a registered architect in 22 states.
