American School & University Publishes Hastings+Chivetta Article on Gender-inclusive Restrooms at Universities

An article written by Hastings+Chivetta Project Designer Mark Keane, AIA, LEED AP, and Project Architect Robert Neu, AIA, LEEP AP on the topic of gender-inclusive restrooms at universities has been published in the July issue of American School & University magazine. The article, entitled “Building a Better Bathroom,” discusses how universities can determine the right gender-inclusive restroom strategy for their education facilities. More specifically, Mark and Robert explain the architectural issues surrounding a new or renovated facility, such as single vs. multi-stall options, hard costs, privacy concerns and the number of restrooms required by building codes.
