Hastings+Chivetta President, Chris Chivetta, will attend the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Annual Conference July 14-17 in Nashville, TN. While at the conference, Chris will join Washington University and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (Architect of Record) to accept the SCUP Merit Award for the Washington University Gary M. Sumers Recreation Center project. Hastings+Chivetta is the Associate Architect for the facility. The project was selected in the Excellence in Architecture for Building Additions or Adaptive Reuse category.
The Gary M. Sumers Recreation Center was transformed into a 21st century fitness, athletic and recreation center through the addition and renovation of the university’s historic Field House. Completed in 1902, the Field House is a registered historic landmark and was the site of the 1904 Olympics.
