To reinforce an enduring commitment to providing outstanding resources, Centre College administrators commissioned Hastings+Chivetta for a focused Master Plan effort. The Plan targeted needs for: - Sutcliffe Athletic Center - Crounse Academic Center - Pedestrian Circulation - Future Development Sites The outcome represents a joint effort of Centre College stakeholders and design consultants from Hastings+Chivetta Architects, Inc. The planning process spanned a three-month period encompassing assessment, programming, cost estimating, and site analysis. Each phase of work included on-campus design workshops and continual dialogue with campus administrators. The proposed Master Plan improvements are expected to enhance the campus environs, refine way-finding within the academic core, and dramatically improve athletic facilities. Proposed library additions and renovations support Centre College's traditional liberal arts mission of “teaching students to learn.” The new facades of Sutcliffe and Crounse respond to the early architectural context of Centre and provide a new focal point for both the academic core and campus.
