The Liberty Community Center was developed in two phases. During Phase I, Hastings+Chivetta provided a park master plan, which included needs assessment, programming, site analysis, conceptual design, and cost estimation. Phase II services included the design and construction administration of the new community center, which contains a lobby, a theater, a gymnasium, outdoor pools, a natatorium, and a youth center.
The Community Center is attached to the Liberty School District middle school, allowing the sharing of activity spaces. This also maximized the project’s construction dollars by avoiding duplication of facilities.
The natatorium contains an eight-lane, 25-yard pool with one-and three-meter diving boards as well as an instructional/exercise pool with zero-depth entry. Outside is a six-lane, 25-meter pool and wading pool complete with water spray and a raindrop water fountain. A youth center has a game room, storage, a sink and areas for after-school programs. Athletic fields complete the property.
