Lindenwood University

Robert F. Hyland Performance Arena

As a sign of the successful renaissance of Lindenwood University, the administration identified the need for the development of a major multipurpose facility that would accommodate the highest enrollment in Lindenwood’s history and position the university among the leaders of higher education in the St. Louis area. Hastings+Chivetta developed a multidimensional, multiphase plan to serve the needs of the university well into the next century.

The first phase of the plan included a facility that seats 3,000 for basketball performances and 4,000 for convocation/commencement ceremonies. The Community Room is an outgrowth of Lindenwood’s relationship with area businesses and alumni. It is open to a variety of users and benefactors and is equipped to host conferences and special events — even while sporting events are occurring elsewhere in the building.

For performances, alumni and special guests enjoy a club setting with exceptional views of the arena and luxury seating for up to 270 spectators. Other features of the facility include a training room, classrooms, a three-court multisport forum, locker rooms, and a student lounge.
