University of Tulsa and Hastings+Chivetta – Going Strong

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

Hastings+Chivetta is proud to be the campus architect for the University of Tulsa (TU), where we have completed more than 20 projects.  Their beautiful campus is a collegiate gothic stronghold, and the two newest projects we are designing continue that tradition, sometimes with a modern spin.

Housed on the campus of TU, the Helmerich Center for American Research at the Gilcrease Museum is getting an addition to create space for new galleries, a protective vault, and large-group gathering.   Expansive electrochromic glass walls will show off the beautiful views of the surrounding Osage Hills, and protect the museum contents from heat and light exposure.  The new North Residence Hall and Student Services Center will house 300 students and 36,000 sf of office space.

Tulsa’s Journal Record featured articles on these two projects in the past few weeks, along with the perspective of Kevin Magness, AIA, LEED AP, our Tulsa office director.  You can read the two articles here (via pdf – web access is for subscribers only.)
