Aquatics in Campus Recreation Center

The Georgia Institute of Technology Campus Recreation Center offers two world-class aquatic facilities in this renovated Olympic facility.

The McAuley Aquatic Center is home to the Georgia Tech Swimming and Diving teams.  The Center features a ten-lane 50-meter by 25-yard competition pool with two moveable bulkheads to allow for different course set-ups, and a moveable floor to allow for varying depths. There is a separate diving tank with one- and three-meter springboards as well as a 5-level dive tower. There is seating for 1,900 spectators.

The Vernon D. and Helen D. Crawford Pool is the spot for leisure and relaxation with recreational lap-lanes, lazy river, water slide and spa.

Hastings+Chivetta developed a bold, innovative solution, involving the world’s longest prestressed concrete floor span, which stretches over the 50-meter pool and under the existing roof to convert this outdoor venue into the campus recreation center. In addition to the Aquatic features, the Center also offers a six-court gymnasium space, a fitness center, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, offices, locker rooms, and a 500-vehicle, three-level parking deck.
