Bowling Green State University

Perry Field House

Bowling Green State University lacked indoor space for football practice, intramural programs, and off-season practice. Hastings+Chivetta designed a facility which addressed these needs while staying within the university’s fixed budget. The solution was a 130,000 SF facility with two major activity spaces.

Perry Field House allows students to participate in sports during inclement weather. The first space houses an artificial-turf field house to accommodate football, golf, softball, baseball and soccer. Two netting systems are used as divisions and backdrops for golf, the batting cage, and the gymnasium.

The second space contains a four-court, multipurpose gymnasium with three hardwood basketball courts and one synthetic tennis court, surrounded by a 200-meter competition track. Support spaces include locker rooms, sports medicine, office suites and storage.
