Athletic Fields

A $5 million gift to DePauw University will help support significant improvements to the school’s athletic fields. The field improvements are part of a comprehensive athletics and recreation master plan that Hastings+Chivetta developed in collaboration with the university. A new multi-purpose stadium will become the southern anchor of DePauw’s athletic campus. The stadium will serve as the home for the men’s and women’s lacrosse and varsity soccer teams. The complex will provide a synthetic turf competition field, four varsity locker rooms and stadium seating for 750 fans. DePauw will continue to raise funds for an adjacent synthetic turf field for practicing and training. Hastings+Chivetta’s master plan proposes a series of phased improvements to the athletic fields and the Lilly Center. It also calls for enhancements to Blackstock Stadium, such as the installation of synthetic turf and the replacement of the surrounding track; improvements to softball, tennis, field hockey, golf and baseball facilities; and the addition of a field events area for track and field.
