Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office

Hastings+Chivetta was engaged to develop a renovation plan to convert a vacated office building into a new headquarters for the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office. Designed in 1970, the existing office building was previously occupied by the Oklahoma County Health Department. Hastings+Chivetta worked closely with both the client and a private developer to deliver this fast-tracked design and construction assignment.

The renovated facility houses the administrative offices for the Medical Examiner’s office, including the Chief Medical Examiner, Pathologist and Chief of Toxicology. The 15,000 sf Autopsy Complex includes a large autopsy suite, radiology and MRI suites, and a forensic evidence and property vault. Also included is a specialized 6,000 sf toxicology laboratory.
