Hastings+Chivetta Architects is excited to be celebrating our 60th anniversary and the firm’s success over the last six decades. We’ve grown into a national full-service architectural practice providing design, planning, interior design, and construction administration services for corporate, institutional, government, and private clients. Our projects span the nation from the University of Alaska to Florida Gulf Coast University, and from the City of Long Beach, CA to the State University of New York. Local clients include Saint Louis University, Washington University, the City of Wentzville, Chaminade College Preparatory School, St. Louis University High School, and Central Bank of St. Louis.

Our firm has consistently earned national recognition from publications including Architectural Record, Engineering News Record, and Building Design + Construction, and our designs have won national competitions for creative architectural solutions for renovations and new construction. Our team of professionals utilizes sustainable design practices in every project and has completed over 40 LEED projects, including 2 Platinum and 18 Gold.

Our clients often select us to plan and design multiple projects, with over 80% of our projects coming from existing clients and their referrals. “We are proud of our reputation as strategic partners, earned by our vast knowledge and experience to meet our clients’ ongoing facility needs,” says Erik Kocher, H+C Design Principal.

In May 2019, we opened a new corporate headquarters in the Westport area. Says H+C President and CEO Chris Chivetta:

“We transformed a 1980’s suburban office building into an innovative, collaborative design studio to meet client and professional staff needs. The new office reinforces our mission, enhances our culture, and creates an environment that supports our dedicated team. Our flexible Community Room hosts office meetings, events, and continuing education seminars. The child-focused Quiet Room gives employees’ children a place to keep busy during school breaks. Our office is also a dog-friendly workplace that allows employees’ pets to be welcome guests. All of these features contribute to attracting, recruiting, and retaining top talent, which are key to the continued growth of the firm.”

H+C designed our new office’s renovation to create open-space areas that support interaction among team members. Collaboration zones include open workstations with team huddle spaces immediately adjacent, conference rooms designed for virtual meetings, and soft seating areas for impromptu discussions. The Digital Experience Studio allows our clients to virtually tour their projects in an immersive environment with a VR headset.

We are grateful to our founders Bryce Hastings and Tony Chivetta, who seized the entrepreneurial challenge over 60 years ago. Their vision for an architectural firm that partners with clients to develop creative design solutions remains strong in our firm’s culture and traditions. Thank you to our current and past clients, consultants, partner firms, and friends who have been involved in our success over the years. We look forward to the design opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
